(You’ll get many more downloads compared to a paid book, and you need as many downloads as possible to get lots of web traffic. Traffic is the first step to growing your audience. You can ask for the sale later.)

This free book will act as your “Funnel Book”.

IMPORTANT: Inside your Funnel book you must put a big advertisement on the front and back, offering another book for free in return for your readers’ email address.

The ad must link to a page on your website/blog, where you have a signup form capturing your reader’s email address, in return for their free gift.

You will get the html (or java) code for the signup form from your list service.

– You can make your Kindle book free for download by following these steps.

Step 1: Sign in to your Amazon KDP publishing dashboard, upload your free ebook file and cover, and set a price -for example $0.99.

Step 2: You will need to make this book free by uploading the same book to Nook, iTunes, and Kobo. You can do this simply via an eBook distribution service like Draft2Digital.com

Step 3: Once you have added your book to all the above book sites, set the price to $0.00. Wait 24-48 hours until your book shows up for free on all sites.

Step 4: Send an email to Amazon’s KDP Support and ask for a price match. This is the only way to get your book for free on Amazon. Just make sure your book is free on Amazon’s
competitors iBooks, Nook, iTunes, Kobo. Normally this will be arranged within another 24-48 hours.

Once done, your free “Funnel Book” will drive people to your website or blog, where they can download your other free book.

This other free book will work as your “Magnet Book” and build your email list.

And this list will make you money over and over again, every time you send out a message to your subscribers.

All the email addresses are stored on your email provider, so you don’t need to look after this, and the free gift is automatically sent out to all your new subscribers right after they have confirmed their email request.

Et voilà. You are building a list on autopilot.

Use this list to follow up. Build value. Build your brand.

The beautiful thing is the process of capturing emails and sending out welcome emails with download links, happens 24/7, even while you’re nipping from your pina colada on an exotic island far away from home.

All you need to start building your own list is 4 things:

1) A free E-book on your topic.

2) Another free gift (this can be another E-book that people will want to read, or a software program that you created -anything goes, as long as it is related to your topic.)

3) A website (or blog) -get a self-hosted site via BlueHost.com for $5 a month -or less. Check the site to see if they have a promotion running, which they mostly do for new customers.

4) An email list building service -like Mailchimp (free for the first 2,000 subscribers), or the more advanced Aweber or Getresponse.

All done? Great.
